Hunger. & Mower.

Is the font gone?

So I'm temporarily  done bragging.

Here's something else:

Remember that conservative Republican fundamental Christian guy with whom I corresponded for awhile? And then I couldn't do it anymore because his politics opposed mine so utterly that it was painful for me? And while he asserted that it was just a free flow of opposing views, the thing about his views were that they wanted to outlaw my views. His politics strove to take away and severely control the rights of others while, well, mine wanted to ensure equality for everyone.

Anyway, I broke off the emailing. But in one of my latter emails I'd mentioned that I was looking for a riding mower, and the other day, outta the blue, he emailed to say that he knew a "Baptist deacon" (a what?), who wanted to donate his mower to me. Blah blah, he would deliver the mower anywhere I asked.

And therein, of course, lay the crux of my dilemma.

There's no way/no how I want him knowing where I live, what my name is, what I look like, what I drive, blah blah. So what could I do?

The guy lives ridiculously close to my mother and one of my mother's neighbors has been keeping his eyes open all summer for a riding mower I could buy, so I asked my mother if I could pay her neighbor to accept it from the guy and bring it out. But my mother freaked, because the whole anonymity thing sounded suspicious and would make her neighbor think I was involved in... idk. Hopefully some kind of sex scandal?

Blah blah. So when the gravel guy (I'm changing the name I gave him in a previous entry and will now call him T), called me re the phone company coming out to mark the phone lines, I asked him. Even though, the more I thought about it, the more it seriously did sound like some sordid online sex scandal thing.

I mean, doesn't this sound weird? I was all, "T, I have a website and it's mostly about chickens and politics and it's completely anonymous, I mean, I don't use my real name, and some guy found my site and we debated politics for a while and he wants to give me a free riding mower and I don't want him to know my name or where I live or anything about me, and if he drops the mower off at your place can you do me a huge favor and bring it out to me?"

Does that sound weird? That sounds weird, right? I'm sure it particularly sounds weird to some guy who's 65 and probably's never online. It probably sounds exactly like some weird sex thing, doesn't it?

Anyway, T agreed and I emailed the religious guy and he called T to coordinate a time and he's probably dropping it off as we speak and I'll soon have a functioning riding mower... but I feel very uneasy about the whole thing.

I don't need T in my business more than he is. I don't need to be asking for any kind of favor. And the whole thing looks really suspicious, doesn't it? My mother thinks people are going to think I have some kind of "sex site." (HAH! I'm... AAG!!!)

I'm all tense.

I'll love to have a mower. I'll love to be able to mow my own property... But I'm worried. I'm very tense.

I'm also very hungry.

I bought those ninety-eight cent Lean Gourmet frozen things and I've been eating two for dinner each night, which I think is about 700 or 800 calories a day, plus whatever my coffee contains, and I'm like constantly, seriously hungry. I'm sitting here, like, consumed with thoughts of pesto. Pesto with whole wheat pasta. OMG! I'm so flipping hungry!

I better drown my hunger in my thesis paper...
