My Skulls

| Comments (5)

My skull ring collection, so far.

Left to right, that's:

Deadringers Yorrick, Tony Creed Riffman, srs slvr 'eric clapton', Ruby Crush full-jaw, Deadringers classic, Ruby Crush jawless, Dave's Custom Skulls jawless.

Click for a full-size view.

IMG_4851_2.jpg

The Dave's Custom, above, is the last ring available after Dave's death. I'm glad to have it, it's one of my most wearable rings. The 'clapton' ring is by a vendor I suggest never ordering from (I won't even list their name to avoid google pointing them out); they're known to rip people off.

Missing is my Sinners Inc. spade (it didn't work, composition wise) but I'll post another pic, later, that features it.

I tell ya, it just makes me need more, seeing 'em like this. Damn list keeps growing, where my budget doesn't.

(thanks for the pick, B. Love it!)

Joe's Skull Lust

| Comments (1)

My brutha-man Dirty Uncle Joe, another skull ring enthusiast, just sent me a terrific picture of his collection.

I need to post a similar one of my rings.

These are left-to-right:

First four: Dave's Custom (RIP, Dave), including an en-graveer option, and a full-jaw skull.

Middle: Deadringers, engraved in honor of a N.I.N song.

Last four: Tony Creed, another Dave's engraved BTW (born to work), and two more full-jaw Dave's.

Great pic, Uncle Joe. I'm hoping you add some more to that soon; but there are so many great choices now!

calaveras de azúcar de plata

| Comments (8)

To quote a recent post on 'i can haz cheeseburger', Want Want Want Want Want.

I just found this ring via a link form some mySpace page, and it's just fabulous - click the image to see more photos and more info (and click on the 'Click to enlarge' link, you really need to see the side and back views to get how bitchin' this thing is).

SS-600x600 triplet-01.jpg

It's a brilliant rendering of a mexican calaveras de azúcar (sugar skull).

I'm a huge fan of mexican Dia De Los Muertos iconography (like Posada), and mexican folk art in general; I won several pieces by the Linares family, and my house is full of mexican skulls and skeletons. So this is a cross-over of two of my favorite aesthetics; teh silver skull ring with the calavera.

Have That as my daughter used to say when she saw something she wanted right now.

The jeweler, House of Wittelsbach, have a number of other great pieces. But it's the sugar skull I gotta have.

RIP: David Caruso Jr.

I just read this note on the Dave's Custom Skulls site:

Dave's Battle with Cancer ended on 2-15-08. Hopefully you were able to
know him or maybe were one of the few hundred people around the World
to have had the Opportunity to Receive and Enjoy one of his Custom Rings.
He will be Missed by us all.

My sympathy and condolences to Dave's family; tragic news from one of my favorite skull ring makes.

I never got around to buying one of Dave's rings; I regret that now. His work has a rebel yell style to it I love, and I've meant for two years to get one of his engraved wings with FTW on it.

Dave's father may still have some of his work left; I don't know. I'll update here later if I hear he does.

UPDATE:

Dave's father had two rings left. I picked them both up, and I'm keeping one for me and will pass the other to a deserving individual. Give me a yell if you're interested and we'll talk.

The Jawless Deadringer

After a long wait and a lot of requests from customers, here's a first look (in real life anyway) at the Deadringer jawless skull.

I'll take a better pic later, this is with phone-cam and none-too-stead mitts. Even so, the ring is a thing 'o beauty, considerably smaller than the Classic, yet with a more primal appearance.

I think it's fabulous.

Mark, Steven, thank you. As usual, you guys are too kind.

Alas Poor Caveman

| Comments (4) | TrackBacks (0)

The latest from DeadRinger - and yes, I have one on it's way to me, any day now they tell me.

"Yorick", Steve calls it, but you could just as well have called it the caveman. It has all of Steve R Gillespie's attention to detail and precision, all of his amazing artistry, yet it's absolutely primal, from the heavy brow to the crooked teeth.

It's fuckin' gorgeous. And I can't wait to get mine.

Yorick

Larger versions of the above images are available on DeadRinger's site.

Piracy from Deadringers

My pal Mark at Deadringers sent me pictures of some new work.

I can't post all of 'em yet, not 'til the new stuff's officially released; but I can show off this glorious thing (click for a larger view).

Disney 010

This is a ring they made (custom) for some Disney muckity-muck to wear at the Pirates III premier; I can only imagine they got a huge stack of orders from press and other mouseketeers.

I have - in case you don't know - quite a thing for silver jewelry, and skull rings in particular. But I swear, every time Stephen comes up with something new, it always amazes me. He is an absolutely brilliant artist.

I can't wait to see - and show off - his newest piece. Expect that shortly.

My buddy and co-worker Carlos from Sinners Inc just laid a new ring on me. Carlos rocks.

Here's a quick snap from photobooth; I'll do a better one later.

Lady Crush and Vampire Crush

| Comments (5) | TrackBacks (0)

Julian's been working on some new stuff, and just gave me some previews.

Gold Crush LadyBig Silver Little GoldRuby Eye Vampire Crush

The first and second are the lady's skull ring in rose gold and silver. And it's sweet. I can just picture that ring on a delicate lady's finger (and, you know, that lady's hand on my...)

The third is a couple variations on Julian's screaming lunatic skull (well, that's what I call it, i dunno what he calls it). I have one of them with Elvis carved into the forehead, but here are examples of some other brilliant customizations, once gold-toothed-ruby-eyed, the other with vampire fangs and 666 carved into the forehead. Tasty indeed.

I need to get a better pic with a size compare of the lady skull and the full-size version; if i can get a decent one I'll post it.

EDIT: Julian just me this pic, a great size compare shot. I have rings like those on the left (the first is huge, it's the biggest ring i have). So you can see the size of the lady skull. I'll also post my own version of this pic with my rings to get another viewpoint.

Boneman

Tony Creed, the Mad Doctor of Skulls, has been off the jobs for a bit due to a (i think minor) surgery on his arm; between that and the holidays he hasn't done much new work lately.

He's back at it now though - he just sent a couple pictures of this fantastic Boneman skull ring.

I want it. Which isn't unusual with Tony's work. I think this turned out fabulous.

(click 'em for close-ups)

He hasn't got this on his actual web site yet, i think he will soon - and he tells me (when I tried to buy this ring from him, though it wasn't for sale, I think it's already got a buyer) he'll soon have a couple new rings including a more realistic full-jaw skull available.

I'm counting my pennies. I think i may need a new creed piece Real Soon Now.

(Also while I'm at it I should mention Julian Lamb at Ruby Crush - he has a new lady-sized skull ring that rocks, I'll get pictures posted soon but if you're in a hurry, let me know and i'll shoot you a picture. He doesn't update his web site so there are no pix of it there)

Celtic Cross, Kaiser Skull

| Comments (7) | TrackBacks (0)

I've been trying to get a post done on this for-fucking-ever. My first try got somehow eaten by the ether (mmm, ether...) and i never could seem to get back around to it, for which i must apologize to my good friends at Deadringers.

They have, at long last, released two new pieces they've been working on for ages; the Celtic Cross, and the Kaiser.

Celtic Cross Enl-1Kaiserroyal Enl2

These are, typically, fantastic pieces. The Kaiser brings to mind images of cartoon villainy in it's Pickelhaube, and is of course brilliantly well done. There's no other ring like it.

The cross - oh my god. The pictures don't do it justice.

Mark and Stephen are fantastic people, and fantastic craftsmen.

I had a hard time choosing between these pieces. I wanted them both. I could see that ring on my hand, but i could also picture stabbing myself in the eye with the the spike. On ther other hand, i have a very strong aversion to wearing crosses. It violates both my rules about not wearing symbols for other peoples belief systems, and my rule about trappings of christianity (but that's a topic for another post, *cough*dawkins*cough*).

In the end, the power of celtic symbolism and the attraction of a piece of jewelry unlike anything i own won. Thus, the celtic cross is mine.

As usual, the design and workmanship and stunning. There was a time when I grumped about DeadRingers pricing; i take it back again, they're worth every penny. I own no better-made jewelry, and in fact I've never seen jewlery that's much better made. Stephen hasn't even reached the peak of his craft yet, and he's already amazing.

First, photos from Deadringers site; posted because they're better than mine, and also because, well, the model in these is a total fuckin' biscuit (hey, mark, stephen? Tell her I love her).

Cross09Celtic Cross18 EnlCross07

No, really. I love her.

Ahem.

And here's what it looks like in real life.

Img 3931Img 3929Img 3921

See? Better on her, but still, it's an amazing piece of jewelry.

You can see a whole lot more pictures - of these pieces, and every other brilliant thing Stephen's been doing - at DeadRinger's gallery, and these new ones are orderable here.

Thanks, guys. You rock. And thanks for the hats, i didn't get a good picture of it, but I'll post one later.

Update:

Miss Biscuit is also a tattoo artist. So that's it. I'm off to New Zealand to marry her.

And on another note, Mark assures me that the kaiser is engineered for non-eye-pokiness, and sends evidence:

Fingerkaiser

While this doesn't make me second-guess my choice of the cross, it certainly makes me count my pennies to see if I can buy another ring...

Deadringer Classic Xmas sale

| Comments (5) | TrackBacks (0)

My mates Mark and Steve at Deadringers - who are fucking brilliant - are also just good guys.

Not only are they treating me right, but they also make my favorite skull ring in the whole world, the classic:

Classic-1

And it just got bettter - the classic is on special, normally $395, you can have one for 25% off at $295 (and a free beanie!) if you order before the end of the year.

If you've been lusting over this ring, this is a great price. It's a fabulous bit of work. The pictures, though they're much better than they used to be, still don't do it justice, you have to get one on your finger to see how great it is.

Fresh Crush

| Comments (5) | TrackBacks (0)

My man Julian Lamb of Ruby Crush sent me some quick snaps of his latest work; this stuff ain't on his site yet (though I hope it will be soon); so this is a preview or what's to come. He sent me several but i particularly want to feature this, which I think us simply awesome.

Swallow Crush1Swallow Crush2

He's perfectly captured the look of the classic swallow tattoo (which represents both home, and freedom, in classic sailor tattoo lore). It's a stunning piece. I love how Julian's work is developing; if I had the cash I'd buy one almost everything he's shown me.

Ace of Skulls

Oh my god.

Tony Creed is the fucking MAN.

I give you the Ace of Skulls.

Aceofskulls

Tony. Dude. If I had a sister I'd give her to you. Here, keys to my car.

I MUST HAVE THAT RING - but it's gotta have sparkin' gems in the eyes.

If you like to gamble, I tell you I'm your man,

You win some, lose some, all the same to me,

The pleasure is to play, makes no difference what you say,

I don't share your greed, the only card I need is

Deadringer Gallery

| Comments (7) | TrackBacks (0)

My pals over at Deadringer have a gallery page up I hadn't noticed.

Wow, i say. Wow.

Here's a snapshot - but the page has so much more, each thumbnail clickable to see a close up.

Dead Gallery

Want. It. All.

The Deadringer Classic remains the gold standard for skull rings. There is none finer, and i truly don't think a finer skull ring is possible; but the thing that pleases me is that they're keeping up that incredibly high artistic standard, AND they're adding new stuff, AND they have a site that does justice to the product. So many vendors have great stuff ill-represent on their web sites; Deadringer has a site that kicks ass.

Evidently they also have some new stuff due out in the next few weeks so I'll be watching.

Keep it up, Mark and Steve.

Creed Compass Cross

| Comments (6) | TrackBacks (0)

I'm lucky I don't live near where Tony Creed works and sells. Not only would I always be hangin' out at his studio 'cause I like watching jewelers work (and cause he's fuckin' cool), but I'd be in hock to my eyeballs because I'd be buyin' one o' everything he makes.

This is the current object of lust:

My Compass Ring

Thing is, i'm not a christian, so as a general rule I don't wear crosses. Same as I don't wear hindu or muslim or jewish buddhist or any other strictly religious symbols. But I do make exceptions; I used to wear a celtic cross dangle on my earring, and I have a Voudou veve pendant that speaks to me as a sort of diver's lucky talisman. I won't tattoo such symbols on me, but with jewelry, once in a while, I'll go with it. I've never really wanted a cross ring, and as much as I like, for example, the german Iron Cross, I don't have much with that symbol on it either (maybe one or two shirts).

This one though - i dunno. It just works. Maybe it's just that FTW quality that all of Tony's work has.

Damn, I need to get me another job just to fund my silver habit. This is worse than drugs.

Fist fulla Elvis

In my never-ending quest to cover my entire body - or at least my entire hands - with silver, I've acquired a couple more rings.

And again, these are due to the generosity and genius of my friend Julian Lamb of Ruby Crush; Julian, I hope you're selling some of these, because I love them.

So first, this one - which is mine all mine - and then the other, which, alas, I must give back.

(click for a bigger view)
Closeup Crush 2Closeup Crush1

Crush Hand

This is the big brother to my first Ruby Crush ring, and like that, it is a thing of exquisite workmanship. Julian's a true artist. This one, though, is special. Not just special as in 'it looks like a wild screaming lunatic', though it does, and that alone makes it stand out in a field of crazy-lookin' silver skulls. But it's also special in that Julian - again, a gesture of generosity - carved my name into the skull in elegant old-english characters. I don't think the photos above really do it justice, it's hard to photograph silver with a little hand-held digital snapshot camera. The lettering, though, is just stunning. I'm not sure if he did this by hand, or if he used some sort of stamp, but whatever he did, it looks great. Honestly, I've not even worn this ring though I've hard it nearly a month. It somehow seems too good to wear and fuck up. Because that's who I am, as soon as I put it on, it's gonna take abuse.

Julian's a truly gifted man; I'm hoping some of you skull collectors order pieces from him. He's also a hell of a nice guy.

But wait, there's more.

Gothy skull goodness

Chelsea Girl, who's still in the midst of her Seaside rendezvous (so adorable), managed to pull herself away from the sand and sun long enough to point me to a couple of pieces of jewelry I love, from Barbara Klar of clearmetals.com.

She has this awesome pieces she calls 'Victorian Skull Lockets' - and given my fetish for padlocks and other things that lock, I think these things rule - though these are lockets, not actual locks (I'd dig seeing a working padlock version, though!) I'd love to have a look at one of these first-hand, though alas, she's over on the other coast.

Victskullssilver

She doesn't list prices, though she's she's happy to quote if you contact her and I'll post 'em here if she gives me an ok on that.

Awesome pieces, I tell 'ya. She has a few skull rings, though they're a bit girly for my taste, and a lot of other lovely pieces, so her site's worth a look-over.

This is why I love Keith Richards (other than his obvious good taste in jewelry).

My friend Julian Lamb (Jeweler to the Queen) was kind and generous enough to send me a ring, the better to show off the quality of his work, from his shop, Ruby Crush. And when I say quality, I mean it, he ain't fuckin' around.

A truly lovely thing it is - click the images for a bigger view.

This is the last time you'll see this thing so shiny; soon it'll take on the look of hard livin' like the rest of 'em.

Crush6-4Crush5.1

Julian's site is short on pictures - the ring I have, the jawless skull, isn't shown; only a gape-jawed lunatic skull that's pretty cool (Particularly in gold). But I like this one much better than the jawed version. He's got some decent other stuff stuff (crosses and Fleur De Lis, which I can sorta see Brutha Ray wearing but which are not me), and a couple of utterly bizzaro pieces, a Jimi Hendrix ring and an Elvis ring; both of which I'd love to own but can't imagine actually wearing, they're so over-the-top (though actually I'd rather see one of sunglasses-and-mutton-chops 70's elvis). I'd love to see these in person, they're awesome work in the photos, the Jimi one particularly.

I have the feeling, though, that Julian, like many jewelers, has a LOT more work that's not on the site; I'm hoping he'll get a good gallery up that shows the full range.

This ring Julian sent me is lovely; smaller and a bit more elegant that my other rings, it's more keith-richards looking that the others. It's simple, classic, well made without a lot of fuss.

You can't really see in Julian's pictures, but this has a lighter, thinner band than my other skulls, so the fit is different. I ordered a size 13 to fit my index finger, basing it on how other rings fit, but with the thinner band I could have gone a 12.5 or even 12. The band is thick, but not wide, so it's still a substantial piece of silver.

This is a really good ring for a smaller hand, or a smaller finger (though it's no delicate thing; it's just a bit smaller than my others.) This is the most elegant skull ring I own.

More pictures below the cut.

I'm sure we're all very concerned that Keith Richards recently fell out of a palm tree in fiji and had to be airlifted to new zealand (I guess he needed to get to Rivendell for some of that elf healing).

And we're even more concerned that he just had holes drilled in his head to relieve pressure, or, you know, let the bad spirits out.

But you know, at least we have this really cool picture that shows Keith's skull ring (click for a better view, if you dare).

Keith Richards

'Cause you know, that's the part I care about.

Serious Silver Skull rings

| Comments (11) | TrackBacks (0)

Just wondering if anyone has had any contact AT ALL with the Serious SIlver people who make the Clapton Skull Ring and the Keith Richards skull ring.

I've been hearing about them failing to ship orders, and despite several attempts I've been unable to contact them. They make some great rings (i love my Clapton Skul) but it's frustrating to hear that one of my favorite ring makes has gone completely flaky while still having a site up.

If anyone's talked to them or knows how to get hold of them, let me know. Until I've got more info though, I suggest people not place any orders with them.

Oh, this is dangerous

As usual, fabulous designs and incredibly creativity. These guys are awesome.

Joes Ring Edited

That's one sweet ring, Joe. Wear it well. Tony rocks, doesn't he?

I was just showing off my ring - which has taken on a battered and abused look like a good skull ring should - to an old friend I ran into in my local sushi bar. Man, I'd like to have another of Tony's creations, one of these days when I get my budget under control (*cough*never*cough*)!

I've been meaning to post about this since thursday - when it was going to be a sorry excuse for a half-nekkid-thursday post. Only I wound up not having time to even fuckin' think the last couple days. It was then only an after-thought, since I wasn't really feelin' half-nekkid so much on thursday.

In any case, I was gonna post this on thursday because that's the day I got a fed-ex shipment with this simply amazing DeadRingers Classic Skull Ring:

Skullbox-2

24 and deadringer

| Comments (4) | TrackBacks (0)

My deadringer classic ring just shipped, or so they tell me. So I should have it soon. I'm not sure HOW SOON since it's coming all the way from New Zealand (Carried by hobbits, I should think), but soon.

In other news, after many, many people told me I should, I finally went and watched 24. And - how'd you put it, Chelse? It's like crack in teevee form, or something like that. And so it is. I just watched the two hour opening episode of this here current season, and wow, does this start off with a bang or what?

I don't even know if it's good. But I know I crave more. More. MORE.

I fear a monster has been created.

Stop me before I add all four seasons to my netflix queue.

Deadringers, Gimmee

Ok. Fine. I give in.

Lust wins out every time with me. Which should not come as a great crashing surprise to anyone.

I have a ring on order from Deadringer. Mark and Steve, the main men behind Deadringer, made me an offer I couldn't refuse.

They don't have a pic of exactly what I'm getting up on their site yet, but it's basically a combination of the two rings pictured below. The ring itself is the classic skull (the one on the left), but with the 'shadow finish' from the super-high-end armageddon (The one on the right).

Classic-1Armageddon

These rings are made custom, so the lead time was quoted at about two weeks for production, plus whatever it takes for shipping. These guys are way the fuck down in New Zealand, so this will have the distinction of being the best-traveled of my skull rings, at least until I myself get south of the equator again. My other two rings are made in the USA.

The thing I love about this particular ring is that it's the most realistic skull ring I've ever seen, beating out even my clapton skull from Serious Silver. Steve Gillespie, the jeweler behind Deadringer, clearly sat down with a real skull, or at least an anatomically correct replica, and made a ring that re-created the shape almost exactly. I don't think you're ever going to find a better, more exact, real skull ring than this.

It's wholly different animal than your classic rock 'n roll skull ring, of which my favorite in the universe is the one made by my friend Tony Creed - my Elvis Lives skull. That's a creature of rock n' roll and horror comics, bikers and pirates, a thing born of artistic imagination.

The rock n' roll skull ring has a vast range - most of it ugly, much of it stupid. The standouts though, Creed's work and Crazy Pig, some of Bill Wall's work, are a distillation of a Motorhead/biker aesthetic.

Different things. Different ends of an artistic spectrum. I love them both, the realistic skull and the rock 'n roll skull. And I can't wait to see this Deadringer piece.

Skull Lust

I seem to be all about lust this week.

(Yeah, I can hear you in the back, whattya mean this week? - shaddup, willya.)

First there was tattoo lust, then seventies-spanish-babe lust, and now we're back to my unending desire for cool skull rings.

We'll talk about my other, never-satiated lusts later.

I just found a new ring maker, who, I think, might have beaten my Clapton Skull as the coolest realistic skull ring ever - the DeadRingers classic skull:

Classic

(click the image to enlarge, or here for an alternate view - the 'order' link is here along with some other jewelry)

I fuckin' want this thing. I can see it on my hand, next to my prized Tony Creed skull.

This is a stunning ring. Absolutely stunning. The only issue I have with these guys is that they're priced too high (Though not absurdly high like Bill Wall). But they're shooting higher than Tony, and for less fully custom work. That's the only reason I have not already ordered this ring. If they would knock that price down just a little they'd have my business in two fucking seconds.

But you know, it's on my wish list, so anyone who wants to show daddy some love...

Damn You, Slava!

| Comments (2)

A reader named Slava, one of many who seem to wind up here because of a search on skull rings, pointed me to a site called Bill Wall Leather.

I curse Slava for doing this, because...

Well.

Want. Want. Really want. And more want.

Slava pointed me there to look at Bill's skull rings, but I don't really like the skulls much. They suffer from the classic 'make the skull scary' problem which is exactly what I don't like in skull rings. They're nicely done, but don't particularly suit my aesthetic. But go, take a look at his site. Most excellent stuff.

Clapton Skull

| Comments (17)

There's that skull ring that started me on the quest for a skull ring. The Clapton Skull ring.

I talked to the makers a while back and they said they were out of business, or not taking orders, or something. I forget what. I was bummed.

So then I went on that obsessive hunt for a skull ring. Which lead me to this spectacular piece by Tony Creed, as well as a lot of other rings I want eventually.

But I was still bummed. That Clapton ring was pretty special -- it looked like an actual skull, which was really unique. Maybe not as rock n' roll as the rings from CrazyPig, sure, not as arty as the 8-ball skull (FateBall, I think they called it), and nowhere near the raw energy and nuttiness of Tony Creed.

And then, what do you know, I get mail from Lionrhod at SeriousSilver.com, and they're not out of business at all. They had some sort of production or other business problems, I never got the details, but they're taking orders again.

So I put my money down.

Now, they were not quick. It took about three weeks longer than I expected; I think they're still having some trouble with production. But I got my ring tonight, and damn, is it pretty.

Clapton Skull-1

Now, it's not my Tony Creed ring. I mean, Elvis Lives, baby. That's made special, just for me. No ring will replace it. I can't even say I'll wear this one every day, it's really heavy. But I'm pretty fucking pleased.

And I still want more. But then, I'm all about wanting more. Ask around.

TC's website updated

My favorite crazy-rocker-jewery-maker, Tony Creed, just updated his website.

It renders correctly on Safari now (Yay!), and he's got some new jewelry.

I love this guy's work. I really need another piece by him but I can't decide which one. I'm terribly fond of this, but there are a bunch of others I'm tempted by. Though I need to hold off a bit; there are too many other skull rings I want, including one from CrazyPig, and the Clapton skull which I hope to get any day now.

Anyway, if you're looking for something unique and custom, talk to Tony. He's my kind of madman.

More Skulls and Tattoos

Ok, so I've got my tattoo idea more or less set -- which I'll talk about after it gets done.

But the oink factor is in full effect now.

Elvis Lives

Final chapter in the skull ring story.

I wrote recently about Tony Creed.

Today, after being assured that I wasn't going to get a ring for xmas, this showed up in a small black box under my tree:

Skullfist-5

Tony Creed rules. Take a look at what it says under the eye sockets in the skull. That's right, Elvis Lives. Tony did that because he wanted to, because he liked my name and wanted to make a ring that said "Elvis". We didn't know that's what we were getting; we just ordered the 13.

I'd buy more jewelry from Tony in a minute. The dude's just cool. The ring is beautiful. Exactly what I wanted.

Skull Me, Redux

I posted recently about my hunt for a really cool skull ring.

Surprisingly hard to find, actually. You wouldn't think so, but almost to a one, they're all ugly, with a garish "let's make it scary" look. All I want is a ring that really looks like a skull.

This is made worse by the fact that Iggy Pop recently released an album called Skull Ring. So any web search tends to lead to Iggy.

I found some good ones, finally. Still not that Clapton one, and damn SeriousSilver for going out of business. But some really good ones.

Skull Me!

Dammit.

Don't you hate when you find exactly what you've been looking for and you can't have it?

No, dear, I'm not talking about you. I could be though.

I've been looking for a really cool skull ring. I have big hands and I need a substantial ring; I hate stuff that's made to look scary, or monstery. I hate the 'vampire skull' stuff, the alien skulls.

I want something that's heavy, silver, artistically designed, and looks like a real skull.

This fucking thing was perfect. Based on an actual ring Clapton has, or had, it was the right look, the right sort of size and weight, and reasonably priced.

And the damned company went out of business. Without taking down their web site. Fuckers.

So I'm back to shopping. If anyone's seen a ring like that (realistic skull, now, not stupid GWAR shit), get me a pointer to it, or if you know a jeweler who could copy that ring from a picture (I know, but they went out of business, it seems fair...), send me a name.

Damn. I'm peeved. That was gonna be my xmas present.
