The starcaster (rickencaster? Rickenstar?) project

The starcaster (rickencaster? Rickenstar?) project is coming along. Both pickups work, pickup height is dialed in. The switch still needs surgery (one of the wires is too short so I can’t get it spun around so neck is up,) but that’s an easy fix. Meanwhile the T & A chip has a home, and I got the strings on the right way this time, so less facepalm. I’d like to upgrade the bridge and stop tail if I can find a set in black to match the pups, but otherwise upgrades are done-ish. It sounds great, but I suck at demos, you’ll have to come over and play it yourself. I am using this as a learning exercise, so I need to adjust the neck next, another first try.

Done, finished off with some blue knobs - though they don’t quite fit the posts so they’ll get replaced. I’m really not good at sound demos, and did not capture a ‘before,’ but I’ll try to get a good sound clip posted. It sounds infinitely better, with proper p90 snarl, and looks like a jr now. Still to do: upgrade the tuners and nut, but no hurry, I’ll do that when next I change the strings.
