This isn’t as great a mashup as some that I’ve linked to lately, but I absolutely love Black Betty so I gotten give it a nod. Whoa Black Betty, Bam-A-Lam!Gotta Make Betty Sweat!

Whoa Black Betty, Bam-A-Lam!
Also thanks to m’man at Mashuptown for pointing a link my way last week. Thanks brutha!
Ram Jam. Jeez.
You wanna hear evil? Leadbelly’s version puts the fear of the delta voodoo into you.
I wanna hear blues mashups. I wanna hear Robert Johnson with Public Enemy. I wanna hear John Lee Hooker with Morel.
Well, Moby did an entire CD (or 3) of blues mashups. You don’t really want to hear it, though.
DIY, Ray, all it takes is software and time…
What’s “time”? Can I buy some on Amazon?
Very nice. Gotta say I prefer the plain Black Betty though!
Vera, the point with a mashup is really not to be better than the components (that often happens, but often not), so much as it is to make a new thing out of old things, not unlike making a new car out of spare parts. It may be a contraption, but you know, it’s certainly a very different thing.
