I was within inches of owning one of those. I was gonna buy it off a guy who was living in it, because he couldn’t afford to keep it running, and had parked it in my driveway, and it wasn’t leaving again under its own power. The body was immaculate, but the transmission was shot. Apparently it had been the van that drove linens and food around in some assisted living community or some such in Santa Cruz. Literally never got out of second gear, and was always garaged.
Alas, the bozo pushed it out of the driveway, into the street, and left it long enough that an eeeeediot T-boned it. Of course it was totalled.
Sigh.
